Cesarean delivery on maternal request: lower postpartum hemorrhage, longer maternal stay
In a single-center retrospective cohort of 74,717 term singleton births using propensity-weighted intent-to-treat analysis, CDMR rates rose to 2.5% and were linked to a 60% lower postpartum hemorrhage risk but a 36% higher risk of hospitalization beyond 4 days, with no clear difference in NICU admission or respiratory morbidity.
