Vera Health Accelerates Its Expansion in Spain: One in Seven Doctors Already Use Vera
Madrid, July 16, 2026. Vera Health, the clinical search engine that gives healthcare professionals evidence-based answers to any medical question in seconds, is accelerating its expansion across Spain and Italy after becoming one of the fastest-growing clinical AI tools in Europe.
Today, elEconomista and El Español each published a feature on how the company reached this point and what it wants to build alongside Spanish clinicians.
One in seven doctors in Spain already use Vera
Roughly one in seven practicing doctors in Spain now uses Vera to search, appraise, and apply medical evidence at the point of care. In Italy, it is one in nine.
That growth happened without a single marketing campaign, driven almost entirely by word of mouth between clinicians and everyday use. None of those doctors arrived through a contract signed in an office. They arrived because a colleague showed them an answer.
That detail explains much of what elEconomista and El Español describe today.
"Spain has become one of Vera's fastest-growing markets anywhere in the world. The fact that one in seven doctors already uses the platform shows that clinicians are actively looking for trustworthy AI tools: tools that are transparent, evidence-based, and designed to support rather than replace clinical judgment," said Taieb Bennani, co-founder of Vera Health.
The platform is now used by more than 400,000 doctors worldwide, who ask more than three million clinical questions every month.
Evidence first, then the answer
Founded in 2024 by Taieb Bennani and Maxime Allouch, Vera has built what it describes as "the Google of medicine": a clinical search engine that retrieves, ranks, and synthesizes the highest-quality medical evidence in seconds.
The difference from a general-purpose AI assistant is not one of degree but of method. Instead of generating answers from memory, Vera analyzes more than 60 million peer-reviewed publications, clinical guidelines, drug references, and medical monographs, links every statement to verifiable sources, and grades the strength of the evidence behind each recommendation.
Each source is rated against multiple criteria: study design, the Oxford CEBM level, the ACEP classification, journal quality, and citation impact. The clinician sees not only what the evidence says, but how solid it is.
"Our ambition is simple: when a doctor has a question, the best available evidence should be within reach in a matter of seconds," says Taieb Bennani.
Who decides what makes a good clinical answer
Vera was first developed alongside emergency physicians, where every second counts. That is the origin of its strategic alliance with the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), one of the largest medical societies in the United States with more than 40,000 members, whose clinical policies are integrated directly into the platform.
The company's Clinical Council includes physicians from Harvard, Columbia, Yale, Mayo Clinic, and the University of Virginia, who continuously review the app and collectively define what constitutes a high-quality clinical answer.
"If we can help emergency physicians find the right evidence in seconds, we can help every clinician. Spain and Italy mark an important new chapter in building a truly European ecosystem for trustworthy clinical AI," adds Maxime Allouch, co-founder of Vera Health.
Over the coming months, Vera Health will expand its collaboration with hospitals, healthcare providers, medical societies, and scientific institutions across Spain and Italy.
The credit belongs to clinicians
This recognition belongs to the doctors who open Vera every day and who, at some point, showed it to a colleague. Vera grows because of them. And if it helps more healthcare professionals and more patients today, it is thanks to them.
Thank you.
